The 2019 Ford Escape and the 2019 Honda CR-V are similarly priced with the Escape being slightly more affordable. The starting MSRP of the 2019 Escape is $24,105 and the CR-V starts at $24,350. They both have four trims which add more features and technology along the way with the top trims starting in the low-$30k range.
The exterior dimensions of the Escape and the CR-V are very similar but the CR-V is a bit longer than the Escape. These two vehicles come standard with front-wheel drive and are available with all-wheel drive. Both models have seating for five with handsome interiors using quality materials and upper trim levels for both include comfortable leather seats.
The 2019 Ford Escape is offered with a choice of three engine types while the Honda CR-V is offered with only two. New Escape models can be powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged, 2.0-liter EcoBoost or 2.5-liter engine. New CR-Vs are powered by either a 1.5-liter turbocharged or 2.4-liter engine.
The 1.5-liter engine on the Honda is slightly more fuel efficient and offers more horsepower than the comparable engine on the Ford. However, the Ford’s 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine delivers much more horsepower (245 hp vs 190 hp) than the top performing CR-V engine.
