2019 Ford F-250 vs. 2019 Toyota Tundra

Ford F-250 Super Duty
Toyota Tundra

Ford Truck Comparison – Ford F-250 vs. Toyota Tundra

When it comes to heavy-duty pickups, there are quite a few viable options on the market today. Our truck experts have put together this comparison of two of the more compelling trucks in the heavy duty truck segment, the Ford F-250 and the Toyota Tundra. We invite you to see how these two trucks compare and learn which one is right for you.

Price

These two trucks are similarly priced but the F-250 is a bit more affordable. Suggested MSRP for the 2019 Ford Super Duty F-250 (2WD Reg Cab 8’ Box XL) is $33,150 and the 2019 Toyota Tundra (Double Cab 6.5’ Bed 4.6L SR) has a suggested MSRP of $31,978.

Cargo & Passenger Space

You will find more cargo space on the Ford F-250. It has a longer cargo box than the Tundra (98.1” vs. 78.7”) and is almost an inch wider (.9) than the Tundra cargo box.

The F-250 is wider than the Toyota Tundra which allows for a larger interior space. The driver and front seat passengers of the new F-250 will enjoy more leg room, head room and shoulder room than those in the new Toyota Tundra.

Power & Trailering Capacity

Across several trim levels for both of these trucks the Ford F-250 produces the most power. When powered by regular unleaded V-8 engines the F-250 delivers 385 horsepower versus the 310 horsepower produced by the Tundra. The torque is higher on the F-250 as well which allows the engine to transmit more power to the wheels than does the Toyota Tundra.

The trailering capacity of the Ford F-250 Super Duty is far superior to the Toyota Tundra. With a maximum trailer weight of 13,300 lbs compared to a maximum of 6,500 lbs on the Tundra the F-250 is the best choice for a heavy load.

Driver Friendly Features

Both pickups include the standard features you’d expect, like air conditioning, power windows and locks, and a radio, However, the Ford F-250 offers an available SYNC® 3 infotainment system that includes Apple CarPlay™ connectivity, proving you with convenient access to music, maps and more.

We admit to bias, but in our eyes it’s pretty clear that the ford F-250 is the wiser buy if you’re looking for a dependable work truck that’s capable of handling the toughest of jobs. We invite you to contact us at your convenience to learn more!
